Element Arbor is a comprehensive tree care company serving residential and commercial customers in Waynesville, Asheville, and surrounding areas of North Carolina. Nicholas Johnson, owner and operator of Element Arbor, has demonstrated professional competency while serving the local community's trees since 2011. He was trained and worked at The Biltmore Estate as lead climber for two years. Nicholas successfully passed the Certified Arborist exam administered through the International Society of Arboriculture (ISA). This credential signifies that Nicholas has a thorough working knowledge of tree care practices and standards within the arboriculture industry. “Becoming a Certified Arborist has been well worth the effort. Too often companies without a Certified Arborist view all projects through the lens of either tree removal or topping/trimming, when in fact the situation may have many other preferable tree care solutions available."
The ISA is a scientific and educational organization devoted to the dissemination of information in the care and preservation of trees. The purpose of the ISA Certification Program is to improve the level of knowledge and standards of practice within the tree care profession. It is designed to assist the public in identifying those professionals in arboriculture who have demonstrated, through a professionally developed education program, a thorough knowledge of tree care practices. Individuals who choose to earn the ISA Certified Arborist credential must complete an extensive education program and pass the ISA exam, which covers all aspects of arboriculture such as soil management, tree biology, tree identification and selection, safe working practices, pruning, diagnosis and treatment, tree installation, tree risk assessment, and much more. All Certified Arborists must have a minimum of three years of full-time experience working in the tree care industry. After passing the exam, individuals must adhere to ISA’s Code of Ethics. In addition, Certified Arborists must undergo regular re-certification and complete ongoing educational requirements. This ensures that Certified Arborists stay abreast of new industry developments and techniques, which maintains high standards for the Certified Arborist program.
“Safety in the tree care and tree removal industry is my number one goal every day,” said Nicholas. “Operating in what is said to be one of the most dangerous industries in the U.S., by maintaining industry standards, safety awareness, safety training, and safe working practices, Element Arbor earns the trust of its customers and that means everything to me”.
Element Arbor is offering comprehensive tree evaluations. These include suggestions for tree removal and proper pruning to promote healthy growth, removal of hazardous and dangerous trees and limbs, storm preparation, and improving overall property attractiveness. By offering tree evaluations, Element Arbor hopes to help property owners proactively decrease the likelihood of future tree related accidents and improve property value through aesthetic enhancement. “Evaluating trees and mitigating hazards is what I did the most while working for The Biltmore Estate. Regular evaluations can often prevent the need for expensive tree removal and tree pruning work caused by hazardous conditions. Most people simply do not notice the state of their trees until it is too late. This is why potential problems should be identified and addressed by an Arborist before they become an issue.” Once a consultation has been arranged, an Element Arbor professional will conduct an in-depth walk through with the customer, pointing out areas of potential concern, discussing opportunities to enhance aesthetics, and offering professional advice and education along the way. When the walk through is complete, Element Arbor will provide the client with a list of suggestions, at which time the customer can decide to schedule all, some, or none of the tree removal and tree pruning recommendations.
At Element Arbor we never forget that it is you, and all the other members of our local community, that matter most. We strive to always offer high standards of service, excellent work quality, expertise, and a safe working environment. We look forward serving you.
